Merchant of Death was a great read with lots of action and is told through a series of journals from Bobby Pendragon, a fairly normal teenager until his uncle takes him on a weird trip through a magic doorway into other worlds where he solves the problems of the people who live in these places/alternate dimensions. Excellent series.

Obviously not all the time, and not with relation to everything, but when it comes to reading, things are a lot easier than I recall.
As a child, I remember reading Willard Price, Biggles, the Hardy Boys and the Three Investigators. There must have been other stuff, too, but I can’t recall what those books were. [...]
