At school, we have started to (again) push the concept of a Wide Reading Program (WRP) with nearly all year levels.

I loved this! It was so much fun and a quick and easy read suitable for both boys and girls from year 8 to Year 12. Lots of action, humour, supernatural and mystery.
The main character is really Stephanie, a 12-year-old girl who makes friends with Skulduggery, a detective who is really a skeleton. Together [...]

The school is in the process of getting a power upgrade. This is long overdue and will finally enable the library to turn on the air-conditioning units which have been on the roof for over a year and NEVER turned on! I hope they still work.

This is a shortlisted book for the 2009 CBC Awards and deservedly so. It tells the tale of a group of Antarctic explorers in the early 1920s who set out to cross the ice continent. What is interesting is the manner in which the tale is told, with a combinaton of journal entries interspersed [...]
